Today we’re joined by Marcel Gemme, a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Specialist (DATS) and a distinguished member of NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals. As the founder and CEO of DRS, which oversees the highly regarded platforms Addicted.org and Drugrehab.ca, Marcel has committed his life to educating families and guiding them toward effective resources for their loved ones. His work has impacted thousands across the U.S. and Canada, and he’s a proud member of the International Society of Substance Use Prevention and Treatment Professionals (ISSUP).

Marcel’s journey began over two decades ago as an intake counselor, where he experienced firsthand the immense toll that addiction takes on both individuals and their families. Determined to broaden his impact, Marcel pioneered a digital approach to outreach, using online platforms to make education and resources accessible to anyone facing addiction. For the past 17 years, he has collaborated with his family and other experts to build two of North America’s largest and most trusted substance use resource websites, helping millions find guidance and treatment options each year. His commitment to continually educating the public on the evolving landscape of addiction recovery has even led the Government of Canada to recognize Drugrehab.ca as a premier resource for substance use help nationwide.
