David Sanchez's journey into the world of drugs began at the tender age of 9, when a neighbor offered him marijuana. By 15, he had escalated to harder substances, leading to stints in juvenile detention and ultimately, multiple penitentiaries. However, David's life took a dramatic turn in 2012 when he conquered his addiction. By 2014, he was leveraging his hard-earned knowledge and personal experiences to help others, focusing on creating healthier, safer, and drug-free communities.

David is the founder and director of STRIKE OUT AGAINST DRUGS, a Los Angeles-based organization dedicated to drug education and prevention. Born in Redondo Beach, California, his firsthand experiences with addiction fuel his passion for his work.

In 2014, David co-founded Beacon of Hope, the largest single-address adult sober living home in Los Angeles. This faith-based, professionally managed residence offers a structured and nurturing environment for men recovering from drug and alcohol abuse. While addiction isn't a requirement for residency, abstinence is mandatory to maintain a safe space for those in recovery.

Haunted by how his own nightmare began with that first hit, David founded STRIKE OUT AGAINST DRUGS to educate the community using materials from the Foundation for a Drug-Free World. Through seminars, presentations, and the Truth About Drugs curriculum, he and his team enlighten the younger generation and their families about the dangers and consequences of substance abuse.

Since its inception, STRIKE OUT AGAINST DRUGS has reached over 1.5 million people, spreading a message of healthy, drug-free living and positively impacting countless lives.
