Show Notes
For 30 years, Laura Stack was known around the world as “The Productivity Pro®”—a Hall‑of‑Fame keynote speaker, bestselling author of eight books, and a trusted voice for major brands and government agencies. But on November 20, 2019, everything changed. Laura’s 19‑year‑old son, Johnny, died by suicide after experiencing marijuana‑induced psychosis from high‑THC concentrates.
That devastating loss ended her corporate career overnight and launched a new mission: to save other families from the tragedy she endured.
Laura founded the nonprofit Johnny’s Ambassadors to educate parents, teens, and communities about the dangers of today’s high‑potency marijuana on adolescent brain development, mental illness, and suicide. Her message—powered by research and Johnny’s own warning—has reached audiences across the globe through schools, prevention conferences, civic groups, healthcare organizations, law enforcement, and government agencies.
Johnny’s story has been featured in major national outlets including People Magazine, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, PBS, and more. Laura has received multiple national awards for her advocacy, including the Drug‑Free America Foundation’s Moxie Award and the American Association of Suicidology’s Loss Survivor of the Year.
A force of nature with unwavering purpose, Laura now dedicates her life to preventing youth marijuana use and helping families understand the real risks of high‑THC products. Through her book, The Dangerous Truth About Today’s Marijuana: Johnny Stack’s Life and Death Story, and her global education platform, she is determined to inspire a movement and get teens to #StopDabbing.
