Shelley Winner was a junkie — addicted to crystal meth. 65 gram of the drug was found in her bags when she was caught by the police. Drug possession of more than 50 gram can get you at least 10 years of a prison sentence in the U.S. Shelley got four years and found out that she was pregnant. During jail, she completely turned her life around. Today, she is a loving mother, a successful businesswoman working for one of the biggest Tech companies in the world, and a founder of her own NGO “Winner’s Circle”.
Shelley was originally introduced to alcohol by her dad at age 11. Her drug and alcohol use grew from there to trafficking in drugs in her 30s. She was arrested and received and ended up in a federal institution in California. Believe it or not, it turned out to be one of the best things to happen to her.
